Privacy Policy
Last updated 28 September 2026
This policy explains the information Chefs Talk handles when you use the app and how it supports the features you request.
1. Information we handle
This can include your account details, subscription status, messages with Briggy, saved recipes, ingredient photographs, recipe-builder entries, and information you choose to provide. We may also receive basic device, browser, usage, and error information needed to operate and protect the service.
2. How information is used
Information is used to create and secure your account, provide AI answers and ingredient identification, save and scale recipes, verify subscription access, troubleshoot problems, prevent misuse, and improve the reliability and usefulness of Chefs Talk.
3. Payments
Whop processes subscription payments and provides Chefs Talk with payment and membership information needed to activate and manage access. Chefs Talk does not receive or store your complete card details. Whop handles payment information under its own privacy terms.
4. Service providers
We use service providers for hosting, account authentication, storage, artificial-intelligence processing, food-data lookup, payment processing, and error monitoring. They may process information only as needed to provide their services and are subject to their own contractual and legal obligations.
5. Photos and AI content
Ingredient photos and relevant chat content may be sent to an AI service to generate the response you request. Avoid uploading faces, private documents, confidential workplace information, or other personal information that is not needed for your cooking question.
6. Retention and security
We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain required records, resolve disputes, and protect the platform. We use reasonable safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
7. Your choices and rights
You can update certain account content within the app and may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information where applicable — including deleting your whole account from Profile & settings or the Delete your account page. You may also cancel your subscription to stop future renewals. Requests can be emailed to support@chefstalk.app or made through the Support page inside Chefs Talk.
8. International processing
The providers supporting Chefs Talk may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate contractual or legal safeguards should be used for those transfers.
9. Age and policy changes
Chefs Talk is intended for people aged 18 or older. We may update this policy as the service or its privacy practices change, and will show the revised date on this page. Privacy questions can be emailed to support@chefstalk.app.
10. Your US privacy rights
If you live in California or another US state with a consumer privacy law, you have the right to know what personal information we collect (account details, email, messages, photos, recipes, usage and payment status), why (to run, secure and bill the service), and to request access, correction or deletion. We do not sell your personal information. If you accept advertising cookies, advertising partners (such as Google, Meta or TikTok) receive page-visit and sign-up/purchase events to measure our ads, which some state laws treat as “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising. You can opt out at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of this page, by choosing “Essential only”, and we honour Global Privacy Control browser signals as an opt-out. Email support@chefstalk.app or use the Support page; we respond within 45 days and never treat you differently for using these rights.
11. Children
Chefs Talk is for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, email support@chefstalk.app and we will delete it.
12. Advertising cookies
Advertising tags stay off until you choose “Accept” in our cookie notice. When accepted, they tell the ad platform that someone who clicked an ad visited, signed up or subscribed, so we can measure our ads. We never send your messages, photos, recipes or payment details. We keep a record on your device of what you chose and when. Change your choice any time with “Cookie settings”; refusing is as easy as accepting.
